The essay should include a topic sentence that clearly states your main idea and a conclusion that repeats it. The writer should also include transitional expressions indicating place or position. This could be words such as next to, above,up,between,toward,left,right, or front. On June 25th, 2009, I went on my first trip to Venice, Italy. On the plane, I felt very nervous but excited to see what Venice was really about. When I got off of the plane in Italy and walked throught the big white airport doors, I felt a sense of relief. It looked exactly the way it did in the travel magazines I looked at before the trip, I was really excited I could already tell this trip was going to be delightful. The sun was shining and their was not a single cloud in the sky. The day was not too hot and not too cold, it was a perfect day to stroll the exciting streets of Italy. The smell of Italian pasteries and breads in the air of Venice made me so hungry, as I walked by the small colorful Italian shops. Venice was beautiful, all the buildings looked like works of art right out of a painting. The city had a romantic feel to it, to the beautiful music on the street corners from the fabulous musicans to the gondola rides slowly drifting down the historic Grand Canal. I believe that Venice, Italy is a wonderful plac e to go on vaction. The city is filled with love, overall my trip to Venice, Italy was a huge success.
